Butterfly Lovers (Private Collection) This is based on the final act of the very old Chinese tale called Butterfly Lovers. This tale has been made into operas, movies and books. There is a wonderful concerto as well. The story is like Romeo & Juliet, with a touch of Yentyl - Spoiler Alert there is a happy ending! The spirits of the 2 star-crossed lovers turn into a pair of beautiful butterflies and emerge from a grave. They fly away together as a pair of butterflies and are never to be separated again.
