About the artist

Chinese Brush Paint, SUMI-E & WESTERN CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACTIONS

I create art in a fusion of styles and mediums where Each enriches the other

I am an international award-winning visual fine artist whose practice bridges Eastern and Western traditions. My work moves fluidly between the meditative techniques of Sumi-e and Chinese Brush Painting and the expressive energy of contemporary acrylic abstraction. Both approaches inform and enrich one another, reflecting my belief that diverse artistic languages can coexist and thrive in harmony.

Though my roots are in Scottish bagpipes and English tea, a chance encounter with a Chinese brush painting on an antique tea wagon sparked a lifelong curiosity about cross-cultural expression. That moment led me to explore how tradition, innovation, and identity can merge through art to create new visual dialogues.

Whether working with the delicacy of ink on rice paper or the boldness of acrylics on canvas, my focus remains the same: to convey connection, balance, and belonging. Each piece honours its materials and influences while offering a contemporary reflection on multiculturalism.

My career has included national and international recognition, exhibitions across continents, and meaningful collaborations that connect artists from diverse backgrounds. I have also been privileged to engage deeply with the Chinese and Japanese arts communities, whose encouragement and generosity continue to inspire my creative growth.

My art celebrates both the quiet discipline of ink and the spontaneous movement of abstraction. Together, they form a unified practice that speaks to shared humanity and the enduring power of cultural exchange.
